Hyow grimaced as ji looked around jeself. Mindscapes, dreamscapes - telepaths had access to exceedingly dangerous terrains. And far too often, some idiot would convince themselves that they knew enough, and run off to play explorer.

And then Hyow had to try and find them - or their remains.

SOULLESS

Kialanthe stared flatly at the zotheus. They shrugged back at her, grinning. "I did tell you," they said innocently.

She breathed deeply. "Tell me again. Why do half of our tests say you're soulless?"

"Because half are specifically looking for a 'soul', and half merely looking for its absence!"

The thick poles speared the ground as if pinning it in place. "All that good iron, and they use it for this?" Harrowdyn grumbled. "Some fence - look at all those gaps!" He stepped forwards, trying to walk onto the stolen land.

There was a brilliant flash, and he flew backwards.
